About The Position

This is an advanced level DIY sales position requiring expert knowledge of the DIY business, store operations, automotive systems, and parts. The role is responsible for providing advanced automotive problem resolution, including identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers. The position involves sourcing parts from various channels, including special orders and second sources, and requires in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. Fleet safety experience is preferred.

Requirements

Advanced selling skills (GAS3) for DIY.
Friendly communication skills.
Ability to locate and stock parts.
Safety knowledge and skills.
Proficiency in operating inventory systems and store equipment.
Strong parts and automotive system knowledge skills.
Proficiency in operating POS and Parts lookup systems.
Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent.
Advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendation ability.
Advanced parts lookup and sourcing skills.
Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability, including internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.
Ability to speak and write English (Spanish is a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to understand and execute instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Use Microsoft software effectively (Word, Excel required).
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience.
Proven sales ability with past experience in fulfillment of customer transactions.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Nice To Haves

Fleet safety is preferred.
Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class customer service and DIY issue resolution.
Deliver a GAS3 selling experience for all DIY customers, including walk-in, online orders, and phone inquiries.
Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
Manage DIY services such as testing, battery installation, and wiper installs.
Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
Perform key holder responsibilities, including task assignment and completion, safety, and open/close duties.
