Retail Parts Buyer

About The Position

Responsible for purchasing materials, parts, and services to support the efficient operation of retail and service departments. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective procurement of stock and special-order items while maintaining strong commercial relationships with suppliers and service providers. The Parts Buyer also plays a key role in inventory control, vendor management, and assisting with parts sales as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated skills and experience.
Must have experience in purchasing within manufacturing, RV or trailer manufacturing preferred.
Proficient in utilization and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Visual experience preferred.
Experience in a perpetual inventory system utilizing BlackPurl, preferred.
Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and related software.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Highly motivated self-starter with analytical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

APICS certification desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

Obtain vendor quotes and generate purchase orders for both stock and special-order parts.
Create and manage stock orders using forecasting tools and historical sales data to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Develop and maintain strategic supplier partnerships to improve pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
Monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
Receive, check in, and properly store incoming stock.
Perform regular cycle counts and support annual inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate vendor and product information, including part numbers and descriptions.
Monitor and adjust part pricing as needed to ensure proper gross profit margins.
Assist in parts sales and customer service as needed, providing knowledgeable support on part availability and compatibility.
Set up displays and plan-o-grams to optimize part presentation and increase sales.
Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed.
