About The Position

Dickinson College is seeking a Retail Operations Attendant - Barista for a 9-month part-time position within the Dining Services - Retail Operations department. This role is responsible for providing products and services to guests in assigned retail locations, adhering to proper food handling techniques and recipes, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining sanitation and cleanliness, and ensuring an enjoyable customer experience. The attendant may also assist with training new retail staff and can be assigned to various retail operation locations on campus.

Responsibilities

• Positively greeting guests
• Providing excellent dining experiences and service to customers
• Preparing quality product utilizing recipes and all necessary equipment
• Ensuring unit is well stocked and organized in a neat, clean manner
• Operating POS register
• Food preparation (cold and hot)
• Non-alcoholic drink preparation
• General utility duties
• Assisting in training staff
• Following HACCP guidelines, Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations, OSHA regulations, safety policies, and ServSafe standards
• Ensuring the cleanliness of preparation areas, all seating, and serving areas
• Documenting HACCP information such as food and equipment temperatures, times of food batches, packing data for food set-ups on the line, e.g. label information for pre-packaged deli salads
• Assisting guests with food allergies, special requests and customized preparation
• Possessing a working knowledge of food ingredients
• Following policies and procedures to ensure that all facilities and equipment are left in the appropriate condition at the end of each shift
• Following proper cash handling policies and procedures
• Promoting positive relationships within and outside of the department through effective communication
• Reporting to work when the college is delayed or closed as designated "emergency response personnel"
• Being called in at any time of the day to respond to weather and/or other types of emergencies as needed
• Assisting the Retail Operations Manager as needed
• Detailed cleaning in units
• Supporting special events and programs
• Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment is maintained in assigned location
