About The Position

TJ Maxx is seeking a Retail Merchandise Supervisor to join their team. This role is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team. The supervisor will ensure an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store. This role models exceptional customer service, creates a positive internal and external customer experience, and promotes a culture of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality. The supervisor orchestrates truck delivery, prioritizes merchandise processing onto the sales floor, and trains and mentors Associates on established merchandising and processing principles. They ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, and communicates with the Coordinator on Duty for efficient flow of goods. The supervisor ensures Associates complete tasks according to the store plan, monitors team productivity, coaches as necessary, and organizes back stock for easy replenishment. They maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards, as well as backroom organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards. Compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs is also a responsibility. The role involves accurate and effective communication with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates, providing and accepting recognition and feedback, and partnering with Management on Associate training needs. Adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures, promotion of credit and loyalty programs, support of shrink reduction goals, and promotion of safety awareness are also key aspects of this position. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizing as needed
Monitoring productivity of team and coaching as necessary
Organizing and rotating back stock for easy replenishment
Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; providing progress updates
Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback
Partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
