About The Position

The Retail Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, a clean and organized store, and exceptional customer service. The Coordinator trains and mentors Associates, helps manage the flow of merchandise from truck delivery to the sales floor, monitors team productivity, and supports store priorities, safety, compliance, and shrink-reduction efforts. The position is full-time and located at the TJ Maxx store at 8361 Brier Creek Parkway in Raleigh, North Carolina. Starting pay is $14.25 to $14.75 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

One year of retail experience.
Six months of leadership experience.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Superior communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
Able to multitask.
Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
Team player who works effectively with peers and supervisors.
Able to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity, and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock to support easy replenishment.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates, and provide progress updates.
Give and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
