Retail Merchandise Associate
About The Position
The Retail Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfactory customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes customer service and checkout, promoting credit and loyalty programs, processing and preparing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining merchandising standards, and participating in store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. The associate supports a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect, follows applicable labor laws and company procedures, and performs other duties as assigned. The position is at the TJ Maxx store at 1570 Oakland Ave, Indiana, Pennsylvania. Starting pay is $13.25–$13.75 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Engage and interact with customers to deliver a highly satisfactory customer experience.
- Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Follow merchandising philosophy, procedures, and standards.
- Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards, and help maintain and clean the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
