About The Position

The Retail Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, applying customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role supports a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; processes customer purchases and returns; promotes credit and loyalty programs; and maintains merchandising, sales-floor recovery, cleanliness, and safety standards. The associate also supports shrink-reduction efforts, follows company procedures and applicable labor laws, and performs other duties as assigned. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 0087 in Saint Albans, Vermont. The starting pay range is USD $15.25 to $15.75 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. The schedule must be flexible to support business needs.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and modeling established customer experience practices.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
