The Retail Manager supervises one or more of the Sales Departments within the store to include the merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, staff selection and development and customer service activities. The role involves supporting a strong commitment to world-class customer service, ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience, and meeting or exceeding financial plans set by the Company. The manager is responsible for opening and closing the store, obtaining 'Manager on Duty' responsibilities, and maintaining planograms as set by the Corporate Office. This position also involves staffing departments with service-oriented associates, participating in interviewing and selection, coordinating training, preparing performance appraisals, recommending merit increases, preparing weekly work schedules, and coaching associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment. The manager resolves customer and associate issues and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Additionally, the role focuses on providing a legendary customer experience by assisting customers with buying decisions, identifying and evaluating their needs, making product recommendations, and promoting company programs.
