About The Position

Lead High-Volume Retail Dining Operations on a Vibrant College Campus Sodexo's Campus Segment is seeking a Retail Manager 2 to join our team at a large university dining account in Troy, NY. We are looking for an energetic and innovative leader who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, enjoys developing high-performing teams, and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of multiple retail dining concepts across campus, ensuring excellence in food quality, customer service, financial performance, and operational execution. As a hands-on leader, you will foster employee engagement, embrace technology-driven solutions, support strategic growth initiatives, and maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance. This position is ideal for someone who can motivate teams, drive accountability, and continuously improve operations while creating a welcoming and dynamic dining experience for the campus community.

Requirements

  • Experience managing retail food service, dining, hospitality, or campus dining operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to develop and motivate teams.
  • Knowledge of cash handling, financial controls, and operational best practices.
  • Experience with food safety, HACCP, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies, systems, and retail programs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support daily retail dining operations across multiple campus food concepts.
  • Ensure a strong culture of safety with a zero-harm mindset for employees, customers, and food safety practices.
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and customer service.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, financial controls, and compliance with Sodexo policies.
  • Train, coach, and develop front-line employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Drive employee engagement and create a positive team culture.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
  • Support the implementation of new retail programs, technologies, and innovation initiatives.
  • Manage opening and closing procedures while maintaining operational consistency.
