About The Position
Sun Tan City is seeking motivated leaders to join its management team. The Retail Manager in Training, described in the job summary as the Salon Director in Training, helps drive store performance, foster superior client service, and maintain operational excellence to meet or exceed productivity goals. The role manages and supervises Tanning Consultants, leads by example in company operations, and holds the team accountable for delivering an exceptional client experience. The position involves working in a fast-paced salon environment and supporting sales, staffing, inventory, reporting, team development, and operational goals. The stated base pay is $16.00 per hour or more, with performance and store bonuses; average management earnings may reach $20.00 per hour when performance and training criteria are met, but that amount is not guaranteed. The role requires a five-day workweek of approximately 35 to 45 hours, depending on hourly or salary status, and availability to work nights and weekends.
Requirements
- Management and/or sales experience is required.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of client service techniques and operational practices.
- Problem-solving and organizational/planning skills.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to coach and mentor.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the salon’s daily operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead by example in company operations, create a client-centric experience, and meet personal sales expectations.
- Maintain a professional and impeccably clean salon environment.
- Establish clear goals and objectives for Team Members.
- Coach, train, and provide feedback to improve Team Members’ daily performance.
- Generate sales reports, maintain inventory, and assist with other Salon Director functions.
- Assist the Salon Director in controlling revenue and expenses.
- Help maintain appropriate staffing levels to support productivity and customer service while controlling labor costs.
