About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Retail Manager 3 – Food to lead operations for EAT Café, Bellevue Hospital's new retail dining destination in New York City. This leadership role involves shaping the future of retail dining at a public healthcare institution. The candidate will partner with the General Manager to establish operational standards, build a strong service culture, and deliver an exceptional dining experience for hospital staff, patients, visitors, and the community. The Retail Manager 3 will oversee approximately 20 union frontline employees and be responsible for driving operational excellence, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.

Requirements

  • Strong retail food service management experience required
  • Healthcare retail food service experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading teams in high-volume food service environments
  • Previous union management experience preferred
  • Proven ability to drive employee engagement and customer satisfaction
  • Strong financial, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead change and thrive in a dynamic healthcare setting
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years minimum management experience
  • 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of retail food service operations for EAT Café
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop frontline union employees
  • Drive exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Manage labor, scheduling, inventory, and financial performance
  • Ensure food quality, merchandising, and retail standards are consistently executed
  • Analyze operational metrics and implement action plans to improve performance
  • Foster strong relationships with hospital leadership and key stakeholders
  • Maintain compliance with Sodexo standards, HACCP guidelines, food safety regulations, and sanitation requirements
  • Promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, and operational excellence
