About The Position

The Retail Loss Prevention Associate II supports the District Loss Prevention Manager and Store Management by carrying out core loss-prevention responsibilities. The role focuses on serving as a visible deterrent to potential loss or dishonesty while wearing a company-approved uniform and body-worn camera. The associate supports a positive customer shopping experience and maintains strong partnerships with store teams and loss prevention. Sound judgment is required to help ensure personal safety, the safety of others, and protection of the company brand. The associate follows company policies and supports company culture and values. Responsibilities include maintaining a professional position at the front of the store or in a department; greeting and assisting customers respectfully; referring requests for assistance to store management or customer service using a company-issued radio; observing and reporting suspicious behavior or critical incidents; performing a closing safety sweep with a member of management; following the Store Emergency Response Guide and company procedures; documenting required incidents in AIIM Case Management; and performing other assigned duties. The position requires strong verbal and written communication, sound decision-making, initiative, the ability to work independently, and effective workload and time management. Associates must be able to stand for long periods. The posting lists 0–2 years of retail or security experience. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 0196 in New Hyde Park, New York, and has a starting pay range of $17.00 to $18.60 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Support the District Loss Prevention Manager and Store Management in carrying out core loss-prevention responsibilities.
Act as a visual deterrent to potential loss or dishonesty while wearing a company-approved uniform and body-worn camera.
Maintain a proper and professional position at the front of the store or in a department.
Greet customers appropriately and demonstrate courtesy and respect.
Respond to customer requests for assistance by referring customers to store management or customer service via a company-issued radio.
Observe and report suspicious behavior or critical incidents to Loss Prevention or store management.
Review and understand the Store Emergency Response Guide.
Perform a closing safety sweep of the store with a member of management.
Adhere to company policies and procedures and support company culture and values.
Document required incidents in AIIM Case Management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
