The Retail Lending Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with Company HMDA and Adverse policies, and monitoring compliance with other Northwest policies upon request. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related experience preferred
  • 2 - 6 years Experience in mortgage lending, with concentration in areas of loan production, compliance or audit preferred
  • Knowledge of all applicable regulatory guidelines, investor and insurer requirements, loan products and programs, and loan policies, processes and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Meet Quality Control production goals
  • Support production team turn time goals
  • Minimize errors, ensuring quality results
  • Maintain objectivity in the assessment of compliance with Company policies
  • Recommend and encourage process, procedures, and corrective actions that ensure compliance while supporting efficiency and customer service initiatives
  • Actively participate in educational seminars and other training opportunities
  • Perform post-close file reviews to ensure documentation supports HMDA data integrity
  • Track recurring HMDA issues
  • Perform additional post-close compliance reviews as instructed
  • Recommend enhancements to department HMDA process
  • Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
  • Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
  • Work as part of a team
  • Work with on-site equipment
