About The Position

The Janitor maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment to support a positive experience for both guests and team members. This role performs routine cleaning and upkeep across the showroom, restrooms, offices, warehouse, and exterior areas, including parking lots. All responsibilities are carried out in alignment with Living Spaces safety standards and operational procedures to ensure a consistently clean, well‑maintained, and guest‑ready store environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of retail experience in a custodial or janitorial role, with commercial facilities or building janitorial experience preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily walkthroughs of the entire store to identify and address cleanliness, safety, and maintenance concerns in alignment with standard work.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards across the showroom, restrooms, offices, warehouse, breakrooms, and exterior areas, including parking lots.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers and vacuums, to ensure tile, carpet, and common areas are cleaned and maintained daily.
  • Clean, sanitize, dust, and wipe down surfaces and high‑touch areas throughout the store in accordance with cleaning and safety standards.
  • Partner with Operations and store teams to keep the showroom clean and guest‑ready during business hours.
  • Monitor and track cleaning supply inventory, performing routine stock checks and notifying leadership of replenishment needs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and operational procedures, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Perform additional custodial and cleaning tasks as assigned to support daily store operations.
