About The Position

This position involves supporting the first edition of the Retail Gen AI Hackathon, which runs from September 23rd to October 16th. The role includes participating in frequent meetings with company members and the hackathon team, leveraging personal networks to attract student teams, and assisting with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the event. Specific duties may include setting up a scoring grid for jury members and aiding in the setup and tear down of the event from October 14th to 16th. The competition will have an early virtual phase, with the final hacking phase planned to be live on campus.

Requirements

  • MMR, MBA, MMA students or U2 of the McGill University BCom Degree program, with a concentration in Retail and preferably a focus on finance, analytics and/or IS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong critical thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Reliable, self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously and with others in a team.
  • Client-focused and service-oriented.
  • Strong desire to work in an entrepreneurial educational environment.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based/located.
  • English (spoken and written) communication skills required.
  • French (spoken and written) is an asset.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably a focus on finance, analytics and/or IS within the Retail concentration.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in frequent meetings and interactions with members of the company.
  • Be part of the overall Retail Gen AI Hackathon team and relevant meetings.
  • Use network to attract student teams to participate in the competition.
  • Assist in other tasks to ensure the smooth running of the competition from September 23rd to October 16th.
  • Assist in setting up a scoring grid for Jury members and other related tasks.
  • Assist in the set up and tear down of the event on October 14th, 15th, and 16th.

Benefits
