About The Position

The Retail Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for leading daily warehouse operations to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely flow of merchandise supporting retail store demand. The Supervisor manages and develops a team of distribution associates, assigns daily workload, and monitors performance against key operational metrics. They serve as the frontline leader, ensuring processes are executed effectively and resolving operational challenges in a fast-paced environment. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to meet service-level expectations and maintain optimal inventory accuracy across the network. Success in this position requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities, along with a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within the distribution center.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse/distribution center operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Experience with OSHA safety regulations and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily operations, including inventory, customer service, and safety compliance.
  • Assign and delegate tasks to warehouse associates, ensuring smooth workflows.
  • Analyze reports, develop strategies, and make data-driven decisions to optimize efficiency.
  • Oversee employee scheduling and timekeeping to meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Interview and evaluate candidates for associate positions.
  • Monitor staffing levels and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Promote a culture of high performance, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by addressing safety concerns proactively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party carriers to enhance operations.
