About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Retail Food Manager 1 to support retail food operations at Kaiser Permanente in Modesto, California. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a healthcare environment, is passionate about food service excellence, and enjoys developing teams while delivering a positive customer experience. You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, high service standards, and a welcoming retail environment for patients, visitors, and staff. SodexoMagic is the joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer, Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Sodexo. This strategic alliance enables us to deliver creative solutions to our clients along with our local partners throughout the communities we serve. For almost 20 years, we have provided top-level food, facilities management and integrated services to corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges, universities and aviation lounges.

Requirements

Experience in retail food or food service management, ideally within healthcare, corporate, or high‑volume environments
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and support frontline teams
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance standards
A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality, service, and continuous improvement
Minimum Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

Oversee daily retail food service operations, ensuring compliance with Sodexo and Kaiser Permanente standards
Lead, train, schedule, and support a team of associates to deliver consistent and friendly service
Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements
Collaborate with clients and internal partners to enhance the overall retail experience
