About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Fixed Income Trader to join the Retail Trading department within Wealth and Investment Management (WIM). This trader is focused on WIM Fixed Income Trading Services provided to various WIM channels. In this role, you will interact with Advisors on fixed income product discovery (including all new issued fixed income products as well as equities, preferred securities, market-linked investments), perform fixed income platform assistance, and serve as a liaison between underwriters and the trading desk. You will also coordinate the setup and maintenance of new offerings, provide inventory management, facilitate trade allocations and execution, and track, analyze, and build reporting of key business statistics and performance metrics. Additionally, you will perform fixed income order reviews and execute Treasury auctions, Market Linked Investments and orders against external offerings. You will review and research trading situations, exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables, and assist more experienced traders with complex trade situations. You will also collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Retail Fixed Income Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 or 7 and 66 examinations, or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period following commencement of employment, depending upon the number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire.
  • Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory.
  • In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply.
  • Meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards.
  • Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 or Series 7 and 66 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • FINRA registration including Series 52 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • Knowledge and understanding of fixed income securities, debt instruments, market knowledge and bonds through coursework or investment clubs
  • Working knowledge of investment products including fixed income securities (Treasuries, Municipals, Corporate Bonds, Agencies, CDs, and Structured Products), equities, and preferred securities
  • Experience supporting advisors or clients in a retail brokerage or wealth management environment
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg or similar fixed income trading platforms
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated relationship building and collaboration skills
  • Analytical capabilities, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related field
