About The Position

The Retail Department Supervisor is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team. This role ensures an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The supervisor models exceptional customer service, creates a positive internal and external customer experience, and promotes a culture of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality. Key responsibilities include orchestrating truck delivery, prioritizing merchandise processing, training and mentoring Associates on merchandising and processing principles, and ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded. The supervisor communicates with the Coordinator on Duty for efficient flow of goods, ensures Associates complete tasks according to the store plan, monitors team productivity, and coaches as necessary. They also organize and rotate back stock, maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards, uphold backroom organizational and cleanliness standards, and ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs. Communication with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates is essential, as is providing and accepting recognition and feedback. The supervisor partners with management on Associate training needs and ensures adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures. Additionally, they promote credit and loyalty programs, support shrink reduction goals, and promote safety awareness. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • 1 year retail experience
  • 6 months of leadership experience

  • Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
  • Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
  • Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
  • Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; providing progress updates
  • Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback
  • Partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
  • Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
  • Promoting credit and loyalty programs
  • Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs
  • Promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment
