About The Position

TJX Companies is seeking a Retail Department Supervisor to join their team. This role is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The supervisor will also be responsible for creating a positive customer experience, promoting a culture of honesty and integrity, and orchestrating truck delivery. They will train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles, ensure merchandise is properly tagged and displayed, and communicate with management regarding the flow of goods to the sales floor. The supervisor will monitor team productivity, coach as necessary, organize back stock, and maintain merchandising and signage standards. They will also ensure compliance with recycling programs, communicate effectively with management and Associates, provide and accept feedback, and partner with management on Associate training needs. Additionally, the role involves ensuring adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures, promoting credit and loyalty programs, supporting shrink reduction goals, and promoting safety awareness. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

Executing receiving and merchandising standards
Ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team
Ensuring an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store
Role modeling exceptional customer service
Creating a positive internal and external customer experience
Promoting a culture of honesty and integrity; maintaining confidentiality
Orchestrating truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
Training and mentoring Associates on established merchandising and processing principles
Ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
Communicating with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to sales floor
Ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizing as needed
Monitoring productivity of team and coaching as necessary
Organizing and rotating back stock for easy replenishment
Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; providing progress updates
Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback
Partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
Promoting credit and loyalty programs
Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs
Promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment
