About The Position

Sierra at TJX Companies is looking for a Retail Department Coordinator. This role is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process efficiently and effectively, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The Coordinator models exceptional customer service, creates a positive internal and external customer experience, and promotes a culture of honesty and integrity. They will orchestrate truck delivery, prioritize merchandise processing, train and mentor Associates, and ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded. This role involves communicating with the Coordinator on Duty for efficient flow of goods, ensuring Associates complete tasks according to the store plan, monitoring team productivity, and coaching as necessary. The Coordinator will organize and rotate back stock, maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards, and uphold organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom. They will also ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, communicate priorities accurately, provide and accept feedback, partner with management on training needs, and ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures. Additionally, the role supports shrink reduction goals, promotes safety awareness, and performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Executing receiving and merchandising standards
Ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team
Creating a positive internal and external customer experience
Orchestrating truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
Training and mentoring Associates on established merchandising and processing principles
Ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
Communicating with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to sales floor
Ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizing as needed
Monitoring productivity of team and coaching as necessary
Organizing and rotating back stock for easy replenishment
Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; providing progress updates
Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback
Partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
Promoting credit and loyalty programs
Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs
Promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment
