At TJX Companies, the Retail Department Coordinator is responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience by overseeing a team of Associates at the front of the store. This role ensures prompt, courteous customer service and the promotion of loyalty programs. The coordinator leads by example, engaging with customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store. They are expected to create a positive internal and external customer experience, foster honesty and integrity, and maintain confidentiality. The position involves taking an active role in training and mentoring Associates on front-end principles, personalizing customer experiences, and promoting loyalty programs. The coordinator also manages register assignments, supports and responds to Point of Sale (POS) coverage needs, and coordinates breaks for all Associates, while promptly addressing customer concerns. They ensure Associates execute tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritize as needed, and communicate effectively with management and Associates. The role also involves providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback, partnering with Management on Associate training needs, and ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures. Promoting credit and loyalty programs, supporting store shrink reduction goals, and maintaining a safe environment are also key aspects of this position.
