About The Position

The Retail Department Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role helps deliver an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries and merchandise processing, trains and mentors Associates on merchandising and processing principles, and coordinates the flow of goods to the sales floor. The role monitors team productivity, organizes back stock, upholds merchandising and signage standards, and maintains backroom cleanliness and recovery. It also supports compliance, safety, shrink reduction, and store credit and loyalty programs while communicating priorities and progress with management and Associates.

Requirements

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Execute receiving and merchandising standards and ensure Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team.
Engage with customers, support an excellent customer experience, and model exceptional customer service.
Maintain a clean and organized store.
Promote a positive internal and external customer experience and a culture of honesty and integrity; maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck deliveries and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure the efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities, and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
