About The Position

This role is for a Retail Customer Service Representative (Pawnbroker) at Value Pawn & Jewelry, a brand of EZCORP. The company provides a structured career path starting as a Trainee in a 5-week paid training program, progressing to Pawnbroker upon completion, then offering a Pawnbroker Certification Program, and opportunities to promote to Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Manager) and eventually Store Manager in Training. The position involves daily interaction with customers, assisting with sales, and negotiating mutually satisfying agreements for pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team members are expected to provide excellent customer service in a friendly, courteous, and respectful environment. Requirements

  • Self-motivated with a positive and outgoing personality and a strong work ethic
  • Excelling at customer service and relationship building
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Customer service, cashier, or retail experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work well independently and as member of a team
  • Ability to multitask
  • Able to pass a criminal background check and drug test

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms or electronics
  • Sales background
  • Bilingual

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers daily, helping with sales
  • Enjoy the give and take of coming to a mutually satisfying agreement regarding pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, musical instruments, and more
  • Provide a friendly, courteous, and respectful environment that continues to set us apart from the competition
  • Providing excellent customer service by greeting customers, interacting with customers in person and on the phone
  • Processing sales, loans, and extensions
  • Performing opening and closing store duties
  • Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, and regulations
