About The Position

Responsible for greeting customers in a courteous, friendly manner, and promoting specific Retail items, thereby ensuring that consistent revenue is generated in the Retail. This role involves interacting effectively with the public and Team Members, performing excellent customer service, and welcoming customers in a friendly, courteous manner. The clerk will become familiar with all Retail items and inventory, provide assistance and information to customers, operate the cash register, maintain a neat and stocked work area, and ensure proper inventory control. Additionally, the role requires maintaining a working knowledge of facilities and events, communicating important information to the following shift, assisting with display setups, attending departmental meetings, inspecting merchandise, performing vending machine drops, and maintaining a consistent attendance record. The Retail Clerk will perform any reasonable request made by management.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required.
Must have worked for a minimum of six months to one year in a retail environment or customer service industry.
Must possess effective communication skills.
Must be flexible with schedule to work days, nights, swing shifts, weekends and holidays.
Must be friendly and have excellent guest service skills.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Regularly required to talk or hear.
Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Regularly required to stand for eight hours and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members.
Performs excellent customer service at all time.
Welcomes customers to the Retail in a friendly, courteous manner.
Becomes familiar with all Retail items and inventory, and provides assistance and information to customers.
Operates the cash register to accept payment for retail sales in the form of cash, credit, and complimentaries, making correct change as required and balancing cash register at closing or end of shift.
Maintains a neat, clean and completely stocked work area.
Ensures proper inventory control, by maintaining accurate records of merchandise sold and stock on hand.
Maintains a working knowledge of facilities and special and upcoming events on property, in order to advise customers of same, whenever possible.
Communicates important, relevant information to following shift.
Assists the Retail Supervisor and Retail Manager in creating and setting up displays of merchandise.
Works to achieve and maintain a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction.
Facilitates the flow of information by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
Inspects merchandise to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed.
Preforms vending machines drops, collecting cash from vending machine sales and balancing to vending machine revenue receipts.
Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record.
Performs any reasonable request made by management.
