About The Position

North Star Community Credit Union is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Retail Branch Manager to lead our Minot AFB Branch. This is more than managing daily branch operations. As the Retail Branch Manager, you will have ownership of the overall success of the Minot AFB Branch—its people, member experience, lending growth, operational performance, and community presence. You will lead and develop your team while identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships, improve processes, grow lending, and better serve the unique needs of military members, their families, and the surrounding community.

Requirements

3–5 years of leadership experience in a credit union, banking, or financial services environment
Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, specialized training, and relevant experience
Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development skills
Strategic thinking with the ability to turn goals into action
A strong sense of ownership and accountability
Ability to identify opportunities and drive results
Willingness to challenge existing processes and consider new approaches
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and exceptional member service
NMLS registration within 2 months of hire
FiCEP certification within 6 months of hire
Insurance License within 9 months of hire

Responsibilities

Lead People: Coach, develop, and empower employees to grow in their roles and deliver an exceptional member experience.
Drive Strategy: Translate organizational goals into branch priorities and create clear plans for achieving them.
Own Performance: Take responsibility for branch results, including lending, new accounts, member relationships, service, and operational performance.
Strengthen Lending: Identify lending opportunities, coach employees to have meaningful financial conversations, and underwrite and approve loans within assigned authority.
Think Innovatively: Look for better ways to serve members, improve processes, strengthen efficiency, and grow the branch.
Build Relationships: Develop meaningful connections with members and strengthen North Star’s presence within the Minot AFB community.
Lead Operations: Maintain strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, security, staffing, scheduling, reporting, and overall operational excellence.
Solve Problems: Approach challenges with sound judgment, accountability, and a solutions-focused mindset.
