About The Position

Individuals performing this job provide extraordinary shopping experiences to guests and stock merchandise. This is a full-time position typically requiring 35 hours per week, with availability needed for any shift on Friday or Saturday and at least 80% of all shifts each week. This is not a remote sales job.

Requirements

  • Must be over the age of 21 (state law requirement).
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions or memos.
  • Ability to communicate with and understand coworkers and guests.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in both whole numbers and in fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate discounts and percentages.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must maintain a valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit.
  • May require a valid Food Handlers Permit.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds or more.
  • Regularly push and/or pull 50 to 100 pounds or more.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical attendance based on a schedule made by management which may vary week to week.
  • Open availability.
  • Must be available to work any shift on Friday or Saturday.
  • Must be available 80% or more of all shifts each week.

Responsibilities

  • Know and actively demonstrate the Company Mission Statement and Core Values daily.
  • Maintain uniform standards as detailed in the Employee Manual.
  • Demonstrate superior product knowledge.
  • Greet guests, engage in conversation with a smile and helpful demeanor, prioritizing the guest.
  • Recommend merchandise based on guest needs, focusing on in-house brands.
  • Answer guest questions concerning price and use of merchandise.
  • Create client relationships with regular guests.
  • Carry product to register counters and out to guests' vehicles if needed.
  • Operate a cash register as business dictates.
  • Receive merchandise as business dictates.
  • Prepare promotional events as necessary.
  • Set up displays or arrange merchandise to promote sales.
  • Front merchandise, rotate stock for freshness, and stock shelves.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly sales floor and back stock area.
  • Clean shelves, bottles, aisles, and tables; identify and correct potential trip hazards.
  • Maintain fresh and readable price tags on all products.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding product movement, stock levels, out-of-stocks, and department needs.
  • Prepare sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assist with inventory.
  • Properly use and maintain computers and RF scanner equipment.
  • Seek to continually improve skills and knowledge to contribute to profitability and productivity.
  • Avoid conversations with coworkers when guests are present.
  • Limit personal cell phone use to work-related activities only while on the sales floor.
  • Carry out management directives efficiently.
  • Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.
  • Practice teamwork and cooperation.
  • Possess time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.
  • Stand, lift, carry, walk, bend, and reach products routinely weighing 50 pounds or more. Use arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds or more occasionally. Push and/or pull 50-100 pounds or more regularly. Communicate with and understand team members and guests. See product and signage.
  • Perform other projects and tasks assigned by management, which may include cleaning bathrooms.
  • Maintain attendance and timeliness.
