About The Position

The Retail Banker provides prompt, efficient, and friendly service to clients and assists with their banking needs, including introducing clients to banking technology. The role explains Bank products and services and identifies opportunities to meet the financial needs and goals of clients and prospective clients. Retail Bankers respond to both Personal Banker and Teller needs, follow established policies and procedures, and use discretion when handling confidential client information. The position serves clients at a desk in the lobby and behind the Teller line. It includes account servicing and transactions, cash handling, sales and referrals, maintaining client information, and completing work in compliance with applicable regulations and Bank procedures. The role requires regular interaction with clients, associates, and a supervisor, and may require relocation or telecommuting during a major disruption to business operations.

Requirements

Experience in client service, sales, and cash handling is required.
The stated KSAs are usually acquired through 1–2 years of work experience and/or a combination of work and education.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with clients, associates, and business partners.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures that require some judgment.
Ability to concentrate while counting cash to avoid mistakes.
Proficiency in data entry and typing.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations using business machines and/or computers.
Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
Ability to show initiative and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to exercise sound and reasonable judgment.
Must be at least 18 years old for coverage under the insurance bond.
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement.

Nice To Haves

Sales, retail, and/or referral experience, particularly cross-marketing products and services.
Knowledge of or experience with Capital City Bank products and services.
Some college education.
Successful completion of an in-house training program or other approved training program.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, efficient, courteous, and friendly service to clients and assist with banking needs, including use of banking technology.
Open, close, service, and support accounts, products, and services.
Use programs and procedures to complete work accurately and comply with regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act, Reg CC, privacy, and currency transaction reporting requirements.
Respond to client questions and concerns in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner.
Cross-sell Bank products and services and promote campaigns and initiatives to meet client needs and individual, division, and Bank goals.
Enter data and maintain client information and referral and lead status in Synapsis.
Follow office opening and closing procedures and robbery response procedures.
Educate clients about identity fraud and phishing scams.
Process consumer and commercial transactions, including deposits and withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, official checks, wires, and safe deposit box payments when applicable.
Keep cash secure, maintain appropriate cash levels, balance the cash drawer daily, and scan Teller work.
Follow procedures for researching and locating outages and limiting Teller and Personal Banker performance balancing violations.
Attend required meetings and training sessions, and complete assigned Bank training within established timelines.
Provide additional support to the manager and department colleagues.
Adhere to Banker Standards, practice SGNNT (smile, greet, name, name, thank you), and follow established policies and procedures.
