About The Position

The Part Time Retail Backroom Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team, and supporting an excellent customer experience. The Coordinator engages with customers, maintains a clean and organized store, and models exceptional customer service. The role orchestrates truck deliveries and prioritizes moving merchandise to the sales floor; trains and mentors Associates on merchandising and processing; ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded; and coordinates with the Coordinator on Duty to support an efficient flow of goods. The position monitors team productivity, coaches Associates, organizes and rotates back stock, and upholds merchandising, signage, cleanliness, recovery, and backroom organization standards. The Coordinator communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates, partners with Management on training needs, and promotes recognition and constructive feedback. The role also supports credit and loyalty programs, store shrink reduction, safety, recycling and applicable hazardous-waste programs, and compliance with labor laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
