About The Position

As a specialist, works in multiple retail locations located throughout the Resort property generating sales. Receives and disburses money for payment of goods purchased and assists guests in locating items, requiring a blend of skill, competency, communication and dedication. As supervisor, additionally assists the Retail Sales Manager and the Specialists in the overall delivery of Wisp Resort’s Retail Operations experience for guests and employees, coordinating staff scheduling and assisting with staff meetings. Wisp Resort is a four-season ski, golf and recreational destination resort. Because of the nature of the resort business, employees may be asked to perform other duties outside of the job description. Also, hours of operation are 24/7 including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, unless company sees capability without minimum education requirement
  • Previous retail sales experience helpful
  • Basic English
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math and analytical proficiency
  • None required

Responsibilities

  • Attends related sales training programs and activities as required.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, as well as ability to be convincing.
  • Strategizes to meet assigned sales targets in a given time period.
  • Completes all tasks as assigned by the Retail Manager, and always maintains a neat and tidy store.
  • Keeps track of the stock and inventory in the store and places orders for replenishing the stock.
  • Maintains the proper display of goods in the store, ensuring that they comply with the established quality standards.
  • Evaluates market trends and keeps track of new products and prices in the market.
  • Opens and closes cash register, performing tasks such as counting money, balancing cash drawers and making deposits.
  • Assists with administrative duties, to include shipping, receiving, unpacking, processing, organizing and storing merchandise.
  • Watches for and recognizes security risks and thefts and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
  • Exhibits good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a Team Player and have the ability to work well with others, and exhibits strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple and varied projects simultaneously under strict time.
  • Exhibits ability to work with MS Windows, MS Office including Excel, Word, and similar programs, ability to navigate the internet, proficiency in all POS Systems.
