About The Position

This is a part-time Retail Associate position requiring a high school education or equivalent. The role involves a range of activities including customer service, sales, cashiering, stocking, sorting, inventory management, sizing, color coordination, and cleaning within a retail store environment. The salary range is $14.00 per hour with negligible travel required.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience.
  • 6 months of related experience or training is highly desirable.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Prior cashiering experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of electronic devices.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand and/or walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Receive donations: greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, enter customer general information into a smart device, and thank donors.
  • Process merchandise: sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items. Sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other assorted merchandise.
  • Perform cashiering duties: conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions, following proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and credit card payments.
  • Perform cleaning duties: clean bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, store exterior, and merchandise counters. Report issues requiring maintenance repairs.
  • Engage in customer service activities: assist customers, price merchandise, manage fitting rooms, offer recycling bags, explain store operations, and utilize sales techniques to enhance the store's sales and community image.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
