About The Position

The Retail Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging with customers, following customer experience practices, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The associate follows operational, merchandise, loss prevention, labor, and safety standards, and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. This part-time role is scheduled for 15–25 hours per week, with flexibility in the number of hours. Availability on Saturdays and Sundays is required, and applicants are encouraged to provide maximum availability. The position is based at the TJ Maxx store at 5555 S Brainard Ave, Countryside, Illinois. Starting pay is $15.40–$15.90 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs; Saturday and Sunday availability is required.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers.
Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work across multiple store areas when cross-trained, as needed to support the business.
