About The Position

Hotel Equities, multi-award-winning hotel development, and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a retail associate for the Hotel St. Michael in Prescott, AZ.   Primary mission:  Serve as the initial point of contact for hotel guests and retail customers, welcoming each individual with a courteous, professional demeanor and a friendly smile. Provide helpful information and assistance as needed, while ensuring the store remains well-organized, fully stocked, visually appealing, and inviting for all visitors.

Requirements

  • Prior Experience: 1+ Previous Retail in hospitality or fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office, outlook) and POS systems is preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Previous retail experience is preferred

  • Abide by payroll policies, procedures and rules of conduct as stated in the Springboard Hospitality Associate Handbook.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all company safety and security procedures.
  • Must primarily work during business hours, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (PST), while understanding that the hotel business functions 24/7 and some weekend or holiday work may occasionally be required.
  • Frequent, for lifting merchandise and inventory boxes, etc., for placing on shelves for storage and / or assisting with inventory and / or restocking shelves and / or displays in retail area. For vacuuming and / or sweeping and / or mopping the retail space and / or store as needed, emptying waste baskets, etc. weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent, for stocking shelves and / or assisting with inventory in store room, cleaning and dusting of furniture, and display cases and shelves, etc.
  • Continuous, for moving throughout the retail space and / or store and particularly when assisting customers, organizing, restocking merchandise, maintaining the retail space clean and organized, including walking to / from storage; cleaning mirrors, windows, dusting, whipping furniture, floors, etc.
  • Frequent, while assisting customers with inquiries and processing transactions, organizing the department’s storerooms, replenishing shelves and or moving and arranging inventory in the storeroom and / or the retail space, etc.
  • Frequent, while reviewing processing transactions and / or assisting with inventory control in the storeroom and / or the retail spaces, entering data in the computer and / or tally and inventory sheets, etc.
  • Occasional, as needed to move around the hotel as needed based on storage and / or retail location and possible use of step stool for hard-to-reach areas.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting customers as they enter the store and assisting them in finding products they need
  • Processing transactions and operating cash registers, accepting payments and making change
  • Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions
  • Answering customer inquiries regarding products, services, and store policies
  • Maintaining clean and organized sales floors, ensuring all merchandise is accurately priced and displayed
  • Restocking shelves and displays with new or returned products
  • Assisting with inventory management, including receiving and unpacking new stock
  • Handling customer complaints and returns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Upselling or suggesting additional products to customers to meet sales goals Work with sales team to achieve sales targets
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all property safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for employees as well as guests.
  • Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to Supervisor.
  • Read and abide by all the regulations and rules of conduct stated in the Associate Handbook.
