About The Position

Retail Associates are responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient transactions at our retail establishments. They are also responsible for processing sales transactions accurately, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Attending high school.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with POS systems.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Promote and practice safe work practices at all times.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Adhere to company, state and federal safety standards and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and accurately ring up sales transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming demeanor, answer inquiries, and assist with product selection as needed.
  • Accept cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment, ensuring accuracy in tendering change and processing payments securely.
  • Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies such as bags and receipt paper.
  • Address customer concerns or complaints in a professional and courteous manner, seeking assistance from management when necessary.
  • Inform customers about current promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs to enhance their shopping experience and increase sales.
  • Restock merchandise on shelves and racks as needed, ensuring items are neatly arranged and easily accessible to customers.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, including balancing cash drawers and completing end-of-day reports accurately.
  • Maintain awareness of safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to fire and emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth store operations, including assisting with tasks outside of cashiering as needed.
