About The Position

This role involves a variety of tasks within a retail store environment, focusing on customer service, sales, and operational duties. Responsibilities include handling donations, processing merchandise, operating the cash register, maintaining store cleanliness, and assisting customers. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent education, or a combination of education and experience.
• 6 months of related experience or training is highly desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Prior cashiering experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of electronic devices.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations, greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, enter customer information into a smart device, and thank donors.
• Sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items.
• Sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other assorted merchandise.
• Conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions.
• Perform cleaning duties for various areas of the store, including bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, store exterior, and merchandise counters.
• Report issues that require maintenance repairs.
• Provide customer assistance, price merchandise, assist in fitting rooms, offer recycling bags, explain store operations, and utilize sales techniques to enhance sales and community image.
