About The Position
Smart & Final is seeking a Part-time Retail Associate for their store in San Diego. This role involves performing management-assigned duties such as stocking and maintaining store sections, providing carry-out services, and cleaning the store. Requirements
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to interact with the general public and co-workers.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Stocking and maintaining a store section using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment).
- Ensuring proper pricing on merchandise.
- Checking product date codes for proper rotation.
- Stocking shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases.
- Preparing perishable products for sale as needed.
- Setting up advertising/promotional displays.
- Cleaning and maintaining sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot as directed by store management.
- Offering friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers by providing them with current store and product information.
- Loading customer purchases and assisting customers to their vehicles when requested.
- Performing basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.
