About The Position

Gantri is a San Francisco lighting company known for designer lamps made with 3D printing. The Shop, its showroom in SOMA, also offers art and design books, independent magazines, scents, and an exclusive apparel collaboration. Gantri is seeking a friendly, reliable seasonal associate to help welcome visitors, discuss products, and process sales during the holiday season. The role provides hands-on retail experience for someone interested in design, art, fashion, digital manufacturing, or independent publishing.

This is a temporary, part-time position expected to begin on November 21 and end approximately on December 23, depending on seasonal business needs. Work is primarily on Saturdays, generally from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with some shifts potentially running until 6 p.m. The expected schedule is about six hours on Saturdays plus approximately two to four additional hours during peak periods. Friday availability, including Black Friday, may be required. Additional availability may be requested for special events and busy holiday periods, including the week before major holidays. Hours and shifts may vary according to business needs. The role is located at 320 10th Street, SOMA, San Francisco, CA 94103.

The associate greets visitors and creates a welcoming, low-pressure atmosphere; answers questions about products after receiving training; processes sales using Square; keeps displays tidy and restocks shelves; and helps open and close the Shop. Candidates should be friendly, calm, reliable, punctual, comfortable talking with people, and interested in design, art, books, fashion, or retail. They should be comfortable using basic technology such as a tablet or Square POS system, able to stand for most of a shift, and able to lift light boxes. Prior retail experience is a plus but is not required.
