About The Position

The Retail Assistant Store Manager supports the management team in operations management and team leadership. The role helps drive daily store performance, lead employees, and provide seamless customer service. Responsibilities include managing inventory, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and carrying out sales management initiatives that contribute to store profitability. The Assistant Store Manager also supports scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and other operational processes, and may occasionally lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Retail, restaurant, or hospitality leadership experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, coach, and motivate employees to achieve sales goals, provide outstanding customer service, and foster a positive work environment.
• Ensure product displays and store layouts meet Skechers' standards for style and innovation.
• Monitor stock levels, manage restocking, and organize the sales floor.
• Oversee store systems, scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and operational processes.
• Occasionally lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds to support peak store operations.
• Implement performance strategies, set expectations, and work to exceed sales goals.
• Address operational challenges and resolve customer concerns.
• Help maintain a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for employees and customers.
