Requirements
- Minimum 3 years leadership experience in retail/entertainment/operations environment
- Proven work experience as an Assistant Retail Manager or similar leadership role
- Hands-on experience with point-of-sale systems
- Strong service skills and welcoming demeanor required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Experience training staff and identifying training needs
- Adult + Child + Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred
- Prior experience with visual merchandising
- Bilingual, especially but not limited to English and Spanish preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lead and manage staff
- Good judgment in difficult and complicated management situations
- Ability to maintain an appropriate, dispassionate demeanor in emergencies, difficult customer interactions, and interactions with personnel
- Ability to follow and enforce safety rules
- Adaptable to changes in a fast-paced work environment
Nice To Haves
- Adult + Child + Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
- Prior experience with visual merchandising
- Bilingual, especially but not limited to English and Spanish
Responsibilities
- Assist with managing labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Division and the site specifically
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
- Encourage, and maintain internal and cross-departmental communication
- Assist with training staff to provide a memorable and uniquely Meow Wolf level of service to guests
- Models and enforces proper cash management protocols by delivering POS training to staff and following company policies for cash handling and cash room compliance
- Assist Retail Manager with supervision of Retail Leads and Retail Associates
- Fulfill all Manager on Duty duties, skills, and knowledge, including the ability to perform any role within the Retail department
- Assist with creating effective schedules to ensure work centers are well staffed during peak hours
- Assist with payroll and schedule changes
- Assist with making projections for hiring needs
- Assist with recommending, creating, and communicating policies and procedures
- Maintaining knowledge of events, special programs and projects and communicating them to the staff
- Assist with tracking fluctuations in visitation numbers and adjusting staffing levels accordingly
- Directly support all site initiatives including, but not limited to, the role-playing element required of all staff members when interacting with guests
- Hire and train staff to provide a memorable and uniquely Meow Wolf level of service to guests
- Assures the store is properly stocked and visually merchandised as required
