About The Position
UNIQLO is seeking a Retail Alterations Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for altering pants according to custom specifications and customer needs, utilizing knowledge of fabrics, sewing, fashion, and the marketplace. The position is available for both full-time and part-time employment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least six (6) months prior sewing/ fitting experience in an alterations or tailoring department
- Maintain specified productivity guidelines
- Strong communication skills, fluency in English mandatory
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including evenings and weekends
- Full-Time Availability Requirements: Average 32 or more hours per week based on business seasonality. Open availability on weekends (religious exemptions will be considered). Restrictions on availability limited to two days per week. Minimum of 12 hours availability per week
- Part-Time Availability Requirements: Minimum of 12 hours availability per week
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of sewing machines such as lock stitch, blind stitch, and serge machines
Responsibilities
- Sew hem of pants with industrial sewing machine
- Trim excess threads using scissors
- Measure, cut and sew hems following seams, edges, or markings on pants
- Alter pants hemlines to fit individual customers
