This internship involves performing regular inspections of customer crop fields to monitor crop health and ongoing conditions, and assisting with general agronomy functions. The intern will provide inspection reports and customer service in a timely and accurate manner to increase customer satisfaction and maintain the reputation and profitability of the organization. This role offers hands-on experience in agronomy fields and operations, assisting with facility and equipment maintenance and repair, and driving a company vehicle to designated customer crop field locations. The intern will inspect fields using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques and GPS technology to identify weeds, insects, diseases, and other yield limiting threats. Findings will be documented and photographed, inspection reports completed, and reports provided to agronomy specialists and customers. The intern will discuss results with both the agronomy specialist and customers to answer additional questions and add value to the service. Attendance at scheduled technical training sessions and meetings is also required, along with assisting with additional agricultural retail operational duties as time allows. The role supports total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts, and the intern is responsible for operating and maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards, adhering to the uniform policy, and maintaining the appropriate professional image. Compliance with GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures is expected.
