About The Position

Victory Learning Center will include working with students, 5 – 21 years old that are typically diagnosed on the Autism spectrum with mental health concerns and developmental or intellectual disabilities. The Restorative Practices (Restorative Justice) Coordinator will provide comprehensive, culturally competent, and neurodiversity-affirming restorative support to students at Victory Learning Center (VLC). This role ensures the implementation of restorative practices that are accessible to students with diverse communication styles, cognitive profiles, and sensory needs.The position also provides professional development and support to administrators, teachers, and support staff, emphasizing strategies for adapting restorative practices for students with communication barriers, social processing differences, and varying developmental levels.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.
3-5 years in an educational setting
Ability to utilize office technology and data systems to document work, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
Strong theoretical and practical understanding of restorative practices, with the ability to adapt these practices for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, and communication differences.
Knowledge of communication supports, including AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), visual supports, and social narratives.
Understanding of sensory processing differences and the impact of sensory and emotional regulation on student behavior and engagement.
Ability to facilitate structured, supportive, and developmentally appropriate conversations with both youth and adults, including those with limited or alternative communication methods.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of professionals, including educators, clinicians, therapists, and families.
Ability to work through conflict with co-workers using a restorative and solution-oriented approach.
Ability to develop and implement short- and long-term goals that are responsive to diverse learning and developmental needs.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete tasks/projects within established timelines.
Strong written communication skills, including the ability to compose clear, accessible, and well-structured documentation and correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to understand, manage, and protect highly confidential information.
Ability to effectively communicate with and support individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
Become an agency curriculum trainer within one year of hiring.
All required agency trainings (including Applied Behavior Analysis, SCIP-R, Ukeru)

Responsibilities

Lead and support implementation of a restorative practices’ framework adapted for students of Victory Learning Center
Enhance the use of proactive Restorative Practice Strategies across all VLC classrooms and sites.
Provide training, modeling, consultation, coaching, and technical support to staff and students in facilitation of restorative practices, including restorative circles, entry/re-entry circles, peacemaking circles (conflict resolution), and circles of support and accountability—modified using visual support, structured routines, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and sensory-informed approaches.
Adapt restorative processes to meet a wide range of communication abilities, including students who are nonverbal, minimally verbal, or who use alternative communication systems.
Respond to discipline referrals to assess appropriate, developmentally appropriate, and disability-informed responses that prioritize regulation, skill-building, and relationship repair over punishment.
Support with staff and student peer mediation using restorative conferencing or circles.
Provide restorative and co-regulation support for identified classrooms and staff, particularly in environments serving students with significant behavioral, sensory, or communication needs.
Facilitate and support escalated cases using structured, scaffolded, and student-centered approaches that account for processing time, emotional regulation, and comprehension differences.
Provide support at restorative practice training with a focus on adapting strategies for neurodiverse learners.
Create, adapt, update, and disseminate restorative practice materials (e.g., visual aids, social narratives, communication boards, structured scripts) to ensure accessibility across developmental levels.
Attend necessary professional development trainings related to restorative practices, autism, communication supports, and behavioral interventions.
Attend team meetings as requested and contribute to multidisciplinary planning.
Initiate, promote, and maintain positive, structured, and predictable relationships with students, parents/guardians, staff, administrators, and community partners.
Provide staff, administrators, social workers, teachers, and families with clear, accessible summaries of restorative agreements and outcomes, using formats that support understanding across communication needs.
Follow up on all restorative meetings to ensure agreements are understood, supported, and upheld, using developmentally appropriate tracking and reinforcement strategies.
Work with the school’s Behavioral framework and collaborate with Behavior Support Team and teams to strengthen inclusive and proactive practices.
Maintain an active file on each student receiving restorative services, ensuring documentation reflects communication supports used, student responsiveness, and progress toward goals.
Work within existing behavior support tracking and accountability systems, review student progress, and support continuous improvement with attention to developmental and disability-related factors.
