High Point Academy's Restorative Justice Coordinator is inspired to support and educate our students to contribute to a better world. As a representative of the school, the RJ Coordinator must present a professional, courteous, and friendly attitude when interacting with students, parents, staff, and the public. This position requires the counselor to remain calm and poised in stressful situations and work toward solutions and possibilities. The RJ Coordinator maintains confidentiality and uses discretion in all aspects of communication. The RJ Coordinator strives to enhance the programs and experience for all students at High Point Academy. All employees of High Point Academy work together to achieve HPA's mission. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed below, we seek Restorative Justice Coordinators who are collaborative with colleagues, empathetic in their relationships with students and families, and willing to work above and beyond their job description in order to ensure success for students. The Restorative Justice Coordinator supports the development of a positive and inclusive school culture by implementing restorative practices that strengthen relationships, address conflict, and promote accountability. This role works closely with students, teachers, families, and school leadership to build a community where harm is addressed through reflection, dialogue, and repair. The coordinator supports proactive culture-building practices while also facilitating restorative processes when conflicts arise. The Restorative Justice Coordinator collaborates with the Dean, counseling staff, and MTSS teams to ensure students receive appropriate behavioral and social-emotional support. The Restorative Justice Coordinator focuses on culture & equity and is responsible for supporting the needs of the students in the school and for working with students, parents, and other teachers to achieve the goals set forth in the High Point Academy Purpose and Equity Statements. This person is responsible for supporting, implementing and reporting on adherence to school rules, behavior plans, and any other documentation that supports our students to successfully meet school behavior expectations and participate in a respective, reflective learning environment. They bring knowledge of accountability, restorative practices and social emotional learning to support all scholars to become reflective members of our community.
