About The Position

The Restorative Aide provides restorative nursing interventions under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The role supports patients who have been discharged from formal rehabilitation therapy, are not eligible for formal therapy, or need supplemental interventions during custodial care. The goal is to promote independent and safe functioning and enhance patients’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Restorative nursing services, excluding Continuous Passive Motion, do not require a physician’s order.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Competence with basic computer and technology systems.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of experience as a Rehab Tech or Restorative Nursing Aide in a hospital or long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform restorative nursing interventions to help patients reach their maximum functional potential.
• Report patient responses and changes in condition to the supervising nurse or therapist.
• Participate in quality management and safety committee activities.
• Assist with collecting quality review data and preparing for surveys.
• Support cost-effective care delivery and interdisciplinary group activities.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development.
• Demonstrate professional behavior when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Adhere to professional organization standards and internal policies.
• Contribute to client relations and marketing efforts.
• Maintain clinical competency and participate in team meetings.
• Support administrative and clinical efficiency initiatives.
