About The Position

Sage Hospitality Group is hiring a full-time Restaurant Supervisor to join the team at the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa. This role involves assisting the Restaurant Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations and taking full responsibility for the restaurant in the manager's absence. Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • One to two full years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession.
  • Experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or complex problems and food and beverage management.
  • Excellent oral communication skills for communicating with guests and associates, issuing instructions, and communicating policies.
  • Excellent comprehension for assisting with guest and associate matters and interpreting instructions from superiors.
  • Excellent vision required for seating guests, expediting food, cleaning equipment, reading floor plans, charts, and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor servers, runners, and other restaurant associates to ensure adherence to all service standards and SOPs.
  • Inspect staff for correct, clean, complete uniform, clean polished shoes, name tag, and general appearance standards.
  • Supervise the service of guests, being watchful of signals from guests in need of service.
  • Assist the manager in establishing and monitoring side-work duty completion.
  • Maintain, balance, and secure the bank according to SOP at all times.
  • Read daily communication sheets from previous shifts and prepare one for the following shift.
  • Check for all personnel call-offs and review the floor plan for coverage.
  • Check the restaurant for cleanliness and proper setup, including service stands, aisle areas, and tables.
  • Communicate daily with the restaurant manager regarding special events, house counts, etc.
  • Assist restaurant managers in conducting menu classes and taste panels.
