About The Position

The Server position prepares beverages for guests at the Greenway Tap restaurant while providing high quality customer service. Why Join Us? Take part in the support of the Preserve at Oak Meadows, an award-winning public facility in Addison IL, featuring an 18-hole golf course, a practice facility, and a new clubhouse. Owned and operated by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. What You'll Do Serve guests in a positive and friendly manner, ensuring they feel appreciated and welcome throughout their visit. Guide guests through all stages of their clubhouse experience, providing attentive and courteous service. Continuously learn and describe Food and Beverage features on a daily basis, offering recommendations and information to guests. Maintain and coordinate service at the table with the assistance of fellow team members, ensuring seamless and efficient service. Work alongside service assistants to clear and re-set tables, as well as assist in the delivery of food and beverages in a collaborative team environment. Demonstrate proper knowledge and service methods in delivering food and beverage offerings to meet and exceed guest expectations. Operate with a sense of urgency at all times, proactively anticipating guests' needs and addressing them promptly. Efficiently operate the point of sale system, tabulating and charging customers for orders, accepting payments, and accurately completing required reporting according to established procedures and policies. Maintain open communication with supervisors, management, and fellow service staff, sharing information about customer needs, comments, or incidents. Assist with training of new staff. Adhere to all procedures and policies established by the District, DuPage Golf, and the Health Department to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Perform all required opening and closing tasks to prepare and maintain the restaurant for service. Follow all safety rules and support a clean, hazard-free working environment. Demonstrate strong customer service when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Must be 19 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Food Handler Training and certification and possession of Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education and Training (BASSET) Program certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Previous experience in a casual/upscale casual restaurant setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and service procedures and sanitation guidelines.
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution to address customer concerns effectively.
  • Must possess a customer service-oriented attitude, dedicated to ensuring a positive dining experience for all guests.
  • Ability to work quickly and with great accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaboration and dedication to team goals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in high-volume serving.
  • Preferred knowledge of Food and Beverage pairing.
  • Preferred experience in serving craft cocktails, wine, and craft beers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and conflict management skills.
