About The Position

The restaurant server provides exceptional service for both our Doheny Surf Restaurant and Longboard Rooftop Lounge. This role involves efficiently and properly performing all service standards, attending to guest needs by answering questions regarding food & beverage and the hotel's facilities accurately and in a friendly manner. The server must maintain full knowledge of menus, recipes, and other pertinent information regarding the hotel, identify food orders when ready, and deliver items to tables in a timely manner. Familiarity with and adherence to all liquor liability laws is essential. The server will communicate guest needs to management, complete side work during non-busy hours, and ensure outlet areas are always clean and presentable. Responsibilities also include constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling, preparing work areas for opening, mid-shift, or closing according to company standards, and reporting to work as scheduled, in uniform, and ready to perform duties. Following up on guest requests/complaints is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

Previous serving experience in a hotel setting such as Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt or another hotel brand.
Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must have exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to satisfactory communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
RBS Certification will be required prior to the start of employment.
Must complete CA Food handlers Card training provided upon hire.

Responsibilities

Communicates with any guest needs to Restaurant, Bars + Events Manager, Executive Chef and Food + Beverage Supervisor.
Completes side work during non-busy hours.
Always keep outlet areas clean and presentable.
Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling.
Prepare work areas for opening, mid-shift, or closing in accordance to company standards.
Reports to as scheduled, in uniform, and ready to be in position which includes uniform to be pressed and cleaned, name tag worn, and excellent hygiene.
