About The Position

The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing fast and courteous service of food and beverages to members, ensuring quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards. They will alert management of any service and/or safety issues and make appropriate service recovery gestures to ensure member satisfaction. The role involves preparing food and beverages, presenting food according to health and presentation standards, greeting members, taking orders, and clearing tables efficiently. Additionally, servers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness of tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors, performing side-work, and ensuring wait staff stations are clean and maintained throughout the shift. Requirements

  • Basic reading and writing
  • Food service experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations
  • Constant walking and standing
  • Handling food objects; plates, trays, glasses, etc.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling
  • Communication skills utilized when interacting with members, wait staff, cooks, and supervisor
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
  • Reading and writing abilities utilized when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
  • Basic math skills used when handling cash and credit

Responsibilities

  • Providing fast and courteous service of food and beverages to members
  • Ensuring quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards
  • Alerting management of any service and/or safety issues
  • Making appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines
  • Preparing food and beverages for service to club members
  • Presenting food according to established health and presentation standards
  • Greeting all members and taking beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner
  • Clearing and cleaning tables in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Cleaning and/or wiping down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors as necessary
  • Performing side-work, and any other opening or closing duties as required
  • Ensuring that wait staff stations are clean and maintained throughout shift
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned
