About The Position

We are hiring a Restaurant Server! At the Dorian, Autograph Collection and Courtyard by Marriott Calgary Downtown our associates ensure that every guest experience is a masterpiece, blending impeccable service with whimsical intrigue. Our associates are focused on providing our guests with the best stay possible, to help them pursue their passions through travel. Together we have two unique experiences, with one address, and one team of hospitality professionals dedicated to being the best in everything we do. We are in search of a professional, customer service-focused Restaurant Server, responsible for greeting customers, providing the best possible dining experience, including running customers’ appetizers, mains, drinks, and desserts, while also properly illustrating each menu offering, according to restaurant standards, and showcasing our Le Petit Chef Program.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Server in a similar restaurant environment.
  • Outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to Safety.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure, multitask and enjoys a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and prefers to work as part of a team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of food handling, food safety, and basic math skills.
  • Valid ProServe certification.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver exceptional service to guests and associates, alike.
  • Greet guests and be responsible for accommodating all guests’ needs.
  • Answer guests’ questions regarding food & beverage offerings.
  • Deliver food and beverage from staging areas to guests.
  • Assist other servers during peak periods in delivering food and guest requests.
  • Check assigned station prior to opening for cleanliness of tables, chairs, and floor; proper set-up of salt and pepper, sugar, etc.
  • Complete assigned side duties.
  • Attend stand up and/or taste panel and being aware of daily specials, soups, drinks, having knowledge of all menu items, their garnish, etc.
  • Follow procedure to take customer orders, writing legibly on checks, properly pre-ringing checks using modifiers, seat numbers, tables, etc.
  • Ensure tables in all stations are properly bussed through the meal.
  • When clearing and resetting tables, follow proper procedures for handling China, glass and silver.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs and monitor the guests’ dining experience to ensure satisfaction with food and service.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Endeavor to work in a unified and collaborative way -- one that fosters teamwork.
  • Follow all safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
  • Have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
