About The Position

The Restaurant Server serves Neiman Marcus customers in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner consistent with the high standards set by Neiman Marcus. This role involves serving an assigned seating section of the dining area, utilizing thorough knowledge of food and beverages to provide detailed information to customers, and interacting graciously with the public while handling multiple duties simultaneously. The server will also participate in daily pre-shift meetings, adhere to accounting procedures for transactions, and execute assigned duties by their supervisor. Additionally, the role requires maintaining the highest level of hygiene standards and exercising integrity with scheduling.

Requirements

• Experience in serving food and beverage and following proper table service guidelines
• Ability to work autonomously
• Motivated and results-driven
• Thorough knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings (e.g., china, glass, flatware), food, and beverage as indicated by the kitchen ticket and the guidebook
• Thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology
• Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
• "Win together" mentality
• Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds
• Associates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Serves assigned seating section of dining area in a professional and gracious manner
• Utilizes thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology, to provide detailed information to customers about menu items
• Leverages knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, including technical and service procedures
• Interacts graciously with the public and handles multiple duties at the same time
• Participates in daily pre-shift meeting
• Adheres to established accounting procedures for all transactions, including all authorized methods of payment, and maintains knowledge of the POS system
• Executes pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties as assigned by supervisor
• Fulfills duties that may involve lifting objects (e.g., tables, chairs, highchairs, etc.)
• Cleans and maintains restaurant and workstation
• Maintains the highest level of hygiene standards to include, but not limited to: Clean, pressed uniform jacket and accompanying clothing and shoes; Clean and professionally styled hair and nails, maintained to avoid food contamination risks
• Exercises integrity with scheduling
• Punches in before and out after every scheduled shift
• Follows established procedure for schedule and shift changes
• Takes appropriate lunch breaks when applicable, punching accordingly
• Coordinates holiday, vacation, and any time off with management while considering the needs of the restaurant
